Countertops are an excellent example of the supporting star that steals the show. While it may not be the most expensive part of your kitchen remodeling, it's undoubtedly the most vital. The countertop has countless responsibilities, being ultra visible and often becoming a focal point. It's also a place for storage, meal preparation, and sometimes even eating and visiting with the cook. That means your countertops need to be attractive, durable, easy to clean, and sanitary.
While many materials can be used for countertops, the stone is by far the most elegant, functional, and real estate value-adding, especially when it's quartz or granite. Quartz's natural luster has an almost three-dimensional look and a speckled color ranging from amethyst to rose, onyx, and more. The visuals are often the main selling point for our customers, but these counters are also work-horses.
With quartz countertops, we like to say that Mother Nature got a little help to bring it up to modern standards. Quartz, called quartzite when it becomes a counter, is engineered with about seven percent of resins. As a result, it has the same visual appeal and becomes strong, durable, and completely non-porous, making it hygienic and easy to clean.
Edging treatments should be significant consideration because the right one will put on the finishing touches, showing off the beauty of the counter and adding extra design value. While most stone counters use screws on the edges, quartzite ones are more flexible in using epoxy. This means you can have a lot of variations, such as full or partial bullnose or even a chiseled appearance.
